Natuur & Wandelen

Het Meer van Viñuela | 10 minuten

Het grootste stuwmeer van de provincie Málaga ligt letterlijk om de hoek. Het azuurblauwe water, omringd door de bergen van de Sierra de Tejeda, vormt één van de mooiste landschappen van de regio. Hier kun je heerlijk wandelen langs de oevers, kajakken, suppen of simpelweg genieten van de rust. Vooral in de vroege ochtend en tijdens zonsondergang is het uitzicht werkelijk spectaculair.

El Saltillo

Wie de beroemde Caminito del Rey net iets te druk vindt, moet zeker El Saltillo ontdekken. Deze spectaculaire wandeling voert je over een indrukwekkende hangbrug van bijna 55 meter lang, langs diepe kloven en ruige berglandschappen. Onderweg geniet je van schitterende uitzichten over de Axarquía. De route is uitdagend maar goed toegankelijk voor iedereen met een normale conditie.

Afstand: ongeveer 8 tot 10 km.

La Maroma

Voor ervaren wandelaars is de beklimming van La Maroma een absolute aanrader. Met haar 2.069 meter is dit de hoogste berg van de provincie Málaga. Op heldere dagen zie je vanaf de top zelfs de Middellandse Zee én de kust van Marokko. Een onvergetelijke ervaring voor natuurliefhebbers.

De mooiste witte dorpjes

Periana

Ons eigen dorp is misschien minder bekend dan sommige andere witte dorpen, maar juist daardoor zo authentiek.

Hier proef je het echte Andalusië.

Periana staat bovendien bekend om zijn heerlijke Verdial-olijven en uitstekende olijfolie.

Comares | 25 minuten

Comares wordt ook wel het balkon van de Axarquía genoemd. Het dorp ligt bovenop een rots op bijna 700 meter hoogte en biedt een fenomenaal uitzicht over de bergen en de Middellandse Zee. Verdwaal door de Moorse straatjes, ontdek de geschiedenis van het dorp en sluit af met een lunch op een terras met panoramisch uitzicht. Voor waaghalzen is er zelfs een zipline dwars over het ravijn.

Frigiliana | 45 minuten

Als er één dorp is dat je absoluut moet bezoeken, dan is het Frigiliana.

Regelmatig verkozen tot mooiste dorp van Spanje.

Cómpeta

Cómpeta ligt midden in de bergen en is bekend om zijn gezellige sfeer en uitstekende restaurants. In augustus vindt hier de beroemde Noche del Vino plaats, een traditioneel wijnfeest dat bezoekers uit heel Andalusië aantrekt.

Zon, Zee & Strand

Torre del Mar | 30 minuten

Op een half uur rijden bereik je de brede zandstranden van Torre del Mar. De kilometerslange boulevard is ideaal om te wandelen of te fietsen. Langs de promenade vind je tientallen gezellige strandbars waar je heerlijke verse vis eet. Bestel zeker eens een Espeto de Sardinas: sardientjes die boven houtskool worden gegrild op traditionele vissersbootjes. Een echte Andalusische specialiteit.

Nerja | 45 minuten

Nerja behoort zonder twijfel tot de mooiste badplaatsen van Spanje. Het beroemde Balcón de Europa biedt een panoramisch uitzicht over de Middellandse Zee. De vele kleine baaien met helderblauw water maken Nerja perfect om te zwemmen en snorkelen. Ook de gezellige straatjes vol restaurants en boetiekjes maken een bezoek meer dan de moeite waard.

Cuevas de Nerja

Net buiten Nerja liggen de wereldberoemde grotten. Binnen wandel je langs enorme zalen met indrukwekkende stalactieten en stalagmieten. Eén van de zalen bezit zelfs de grootste stalagmiet ter wereld. Een bezoek duurt ongeveer anderhalf uur.

Culturele daguitstappen

Málaga | 45 minuten

Málaga heeft zich de afgelopen jaren ontwikkeld tot één van de leukste steden van Spanje. Historische monumenten worden er moeiteloos gecombineerd met hippe restaurants, musea en gezellige winkelstraten.

Granada | 1,5 uur

Granada is misschien wel de mooiste stad van Andalusië.
Het adembenemende en wereldberoemde Alhambra behoort tot de indrukwekkendste paleizen ter wereld. Maar ook de oude Arabische wijk Albaicín en de flamencowijk Sacromonte zijn absoluut de moeite waard. Vergeet niet je tickets maanden op voorhand te reserveren.

Córdoba | 2 uur

De Mezquita is zonder twijfel één van de indrukwekkendste gebouwen van Europa. Daarnaast maken de kleurrijke patio's, de Romeinse brug en de sfeervolle Joodse wijk Córdoba tot een heerlijke stad voor een daguitstap.

Ronda | 2 uur

Ronda ligt spectaculair boven een diepe kloof. De beroemde Puente Nuevo is één van de meest gefotografeerde bruggen van Spanje. Slenter door de historische straatjes en geniet van de indrukwekkende vergezichten.

Lake Viñuela | 10 minutes

Just around the corner from our B&B lies Lake Viñuela, the largest reservoir in the province of Málaga. Its crystal-clear blue waters, surrounded by the impressive peaks of the Sierra de Tejeda, create one of the region's most stunning landscapes.

Spend the day walking along the shoreline, kayaking, paddleboarding, cycling, or simply relaxing while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Early mornings and sunset offer truly spectacular views.

El Saltillo

If you're looking for an alternative to the popular Caminito del Rey, El Saltillo is a hidden gem well worth discovering.

This spectacular hiking trail takes you across an impressive suspension bridge almost 55 metres long, leading through dramatic gorges and rugged mountain scenery. Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the Axarquía region.

The route is moderately challenging but suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.

Distance: approximately 8–10 km

La Maroma

For experienced hikers, climbing La Maroma is an unforgettable experience.

At 2,069 metres, it is the highest peak in the province of Málaga. On clear days, you'll be rewarded with incredible views stretching across the Mediterranean Sea, and even as far as the mountains of Morocco.

A must for nature lovers and mountain enthusiasts.

Lose yourself in the charming Moorish streets, discover the village's fascinating history, and enjoy lunch on a terrace overlooking one of the most beautiful panoramas in Andalusia.

For thrill-seekers, there's even a zipline stretching across the gorge.

Frigiliana | 45 minutes

If there's one village you simply cannot miss, it's Frigiliana.

Frequently voted one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, it enchants visitors with:

Cómpeta

Nestled in the mountains, Cómpeta is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and excellent restaurants.

Torre del Mar | 30 minutes

Just a 30-minute drive away, you'll find the wide sandy beaches of Torre del Mar.

Its long seafront promenade is perfect for walking or cycling, while the many beach bars serve some of the freshest seafood you'll ever taste.

Be sure to try Espetos de Sardinas — fresh sardines grilled over charcoal on traditional fishing boats, one of Andalusia's most iconic culinary specialties.

Nerja | 45 minutes

Without a doubt, Nerja is one of Spain's most beautiful coastal towns.

The famous Balcón de Europa offers spectacular panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea.

Its hidden coves and crystal-clear waters make Nerja an ideal destination for swimming, snorkelling, and relaxing by the sea.

The charming old town, filled with restaurants, cafés, and boutique shops, is equally worth exploring.

Nerja Caves

Just outside Nerja you'll discover the world-famous Nerja Caves.

Explore enormous underground chambers filled with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. One chamber even contains one of the world's largest stalagmites.
